reach for the moon

ever had to overcome an obstacle to reach your goal?

… how about being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, and then blasting off for a space-walk on the moon?

With NASA on his side, Rich Clifford set off into space in 1996 with a secret… he had Parkinson’s disease. Only now, is he sharing his story, with the intention of inspiring people to think big and follow their dreams… and that Parkinson’s disease doesn’t have to stand in the way of your dreams. Pretty inspirational!

Says Rich, “I am forever appreciative for the opportunity these people afforded me. They took the high road instead of making the easy decision, which would have been to ground me permanently.”

Rich is now an advocate with the National Parkinson Foundation in the US, and shares his experience and message of hope publicly. He is also preparing to become the focus of a documentary, produced by Zack, the son of neurologist Dr Joseph Jankovic, director of the Parkinson’s Disease Center and Movement Disorders Clinic at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Check out the website, The Astronaut’s Secret.

“There are a lot of reasons to be pessimistic in the world right now but also some incredible reasons to be optimistic!” How true.
